When is the best time to start?
Is there a waiting list?
I may not be able to start your lessons immediately and it is advisable to get on the waiting list to ensure that you have priority when a place becomes available. There are usually openings in September, for the new academic year, and in late June, after the exams when you may want to book an intensive summer course of lessons to catch up or prepare for the new school year. There will be limited availability for new starts throughout the year, so please ask, and I will do my best to fit you in as soon as possible.
What can I do whilst I’m on the waiting list?
I will recommend apps and TV series and films for you to be enjoying whilst you’re on the waiting list.
How and when do I pay?
Your contract will give you clear instructions on how to pay for your lessons. Payment is made via bank transfer on the day of the lesson, or up to four weeks in advance. You can choose to pay per lesson or in blocks of 4 or 8 lessons.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule a lesson?
Can I pause my lessons when I go on holiday?
Yes, of course!
Will I need a course book?
It depends on what I am teaching you. If I am supporting you with GCSE and A Level Spanish, I will recommend an appropriate workbook for grammar and translation practice. If you are following the Adult Beginners’ course, you will need a Coursebook and Activity book; I will send you a link to purchase them. You will need to purchase a coursebook for the Primary Spanish lessons.
Will I get lots of exam practice?
Absolutely! I do not use the exam board past papers in my lessons as they are freely available and will be used by your teachers in school and college. I will provide new practice papers in all skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing as well as using bespoke exam materials that I have created myself.
How can I practise in between my lessons?
I will create an account for you in TextActivities and The Language Gym for targeted and general vocabulary and grammar practice.
Can I join a group session?
No, I do not offer group sessions. All my lessons are designed to help the individual learner, as such a group lesson would not be appropriate.
Can I have a lesson with my friend or partner?
I am happy to consider a shared lesson for two students if you are both at the same level and working towards the same goal. Please contact me to discuss this. There will be a small additional fee for shared lessons.
Can I enter myself for an exam?
Yes! If you are working independently towards gaining a GCSE, AS or A Level qualification, I will advise you on where and how to take the exams at your nearest Tutors and Exams centre.
