I have spoken “restaurant Spanish” for many years but have always wanted to do more. I discovered Georgina and decided to take the plunge to expand my knowledge. I now realise how little I really knew. I have learnt an enormous amount over the last two years, and the structure and discipline of regular lessons has allowed me to take on the language with more confidence. Georgina’s knowledge of the country its history and culture make lessons interesting and enjoyable.

Georgina’s sessions were very focused and structured. She has exceptional knowledge and experience in teaching Spanish and lessons are perfectly aligned to specific exam board requirements and mark schemes. My daughter was particularly struggling with the film and literature elements and with Georgina’s help she achieved the top grade. Georgina also helped so much with her confidence in the speaking exam, including mock orals. My daughter was out of school at the time and Georgina made it possible for her not only to sit the exam but to achieve an A*. Thank you very much!

Georgina helped my daughter with her A-Level Spanish and helped her raise her grade from her mock exam by 2 grades by the final exams. I contacted Georgina fairly close to the A-Levels, after my daughter scored BBC in her mocks, with the C in Spanish. As she needed AAA for her preferred university course she was particularly worried about Spanish. My daughter had 2 sessions a week with Georgina from the end of February right up until the night before the final exam at the beginning of June. Georgina’s commitment right up until the last moment was notable and she was still encouraging my daughter to do past papers the night before the last exam. Alongside the two sessions Georgina set her work to do in between sessions which she marked promptly. Georgina has a no-nonsense but calm and authoritative approach which ensured my daughter knuckled down and worked hard. She also helped with some of her fundamental understanding and helped her to build confidence in the subject. On results day she was delighted to see that she had scored AAA across all three subjects. Not only that, but her place within the grade boundary was higher in Spanish than in the two other subjects she studied, which is a reflection of the hard work she put in and the quality of the teaching that Georgina provided. Thank you Georgina for squeezing her in at the last minute. Your “stay calm and don’t panic” but firm approach really helped my daughter to achieve her full potential in this subject. I would recommend Georgina to anyone whose child is struggling with languages at any level.

Georgina tutored my son in Spanish at both GCSE and then onto A Level, helping him gain top grades in examinations which afforded him the opportunity to accept a university place at Oxford. In the classroom environment teachers are restricted with both time and class sizes not allowing them to spend time giving valuable one to one support. Having this opportunity to work alongside such a talented and amazing linguist meant he was able to consolidate what he had already learnt and then progress to achieve a deeper more solid understanding of both the written and spoken language. Georgina was very organised and lessons were structured, interesting and set at a suitable learning level and pace. This was helpful not only to him but also to me as a parent knowing that as a direct result of Georgina’s support he was not under undue pressure and as a result gained much more confidence in his own ability and worked to his full potential. Georgina is an exceptional linguist and teacher. She tutored my son for GCSE French and my daughter for both GSCE French and Spanish. My daughter gained so much confidence and enjoyment from Georgina’s lessons that she continued with her tutoring and chose Spanish A level. Throughout these last two A level years, she has found a real love for the Spanish language thanks to Georgina’s enthusiasm and passion for Spain and all things Frida Kahlo! Georgina has been a massive help to our daughter. After achieving a grade 2 in her GCSE mocks, Georgina worked with her every week supporting her with what was being learnt in school. Georgina was always very helpful and gave our daughter a lot more confidence with her Spanish. She achieved a grade 5 in her GCSE which was a fantastic result for her. My sessions with Georgina were fantastic and I can't recommend her highly enough. She was extremely supportive with the more technical grammar preparation for my Cambridge application but also helped me develop my wider reading. Profesora Irvine is an amazing tutor! She was happy to visit me at home and encouraged me in all aspects of the Spanish GCSE course.
